Thank you KC for that lovely inclusion in your Thanksgiving! I hope you and yours are able to celebrate a wonderful past year and look forward to another as good or better.
Our families and friends are the most important and most influential part of our lives. While we should appreciate and honor them year long there are times when putting a voice to those sentiments lets them know how much they mean to us.
Happy Thanksgiving to my friends south of the border!!

What a day! I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving as much as I did. It was great seeing family and I had fun hosting Thanksgiving at our house. I was up baking pies at 6:30am, then pretty much kept going all day after that! I roasted a turkey with orange slices and sprigs of fresh rosemary. The orange slices lay on top of the skin and do a good job of keeping the bird moist, flavoring it and still letting it brown. I replace the slices with new ones when the turkey has two hours to go. The rosemary sprigs go in the bird, under his wings and against the meat. It makes blends nicely with the orange and lightly flavors the meat during cooking It makes the kitchen smell really good when it is in the oven too. Dinner for six went off without a hitch, followed by pie and ice cream. I'm totally stuffed!

Good to hear Thanksgiving was a hit!! Did you collect enough baby spoons? We are tired here but happy it's warmed up! Enjoying my first Turkey sandwich of the day. ;D

Thanks for asking Oceans! Only two baby spoons have arrived so far, a pattern spoon and a really cute one with two cats on the handle marked "Pretty Puss". I wasn't planning to use them until the Christmas dinner, which I'm doing on December 4th. All have shipped out, so I think they'll all make it in time.
I'm really looking forward to starting a tradition with them as the napkin rings on my holiday tables, and to collecting more of the character spoons. There are some really interesting ones and I think it will be fun to have different characters on each plate. I found ribbon that matches the blue of my blue/white china to tie on the necks. I also plan to go by Schurra's, the chocolatier that has been in San Jose since the early 1900's to get the chocolates to put in the bowl of each spoon.
I'll post photos when they all get here.

At this point I've got ten I think (going off the top of my head), so I'm in pretty good shape table-wise. I'm leaning towards the ones with animals, nursury rhymes and other characters now, but thank-you for thinking of me!
