Title: Franklin Caro Jar w/ Lid
Post by: 68cutlass on November 25, 2010, 06:53:47 PM

I have come across a glass jar w/ glass lid. Lid has Franklin Caro. engraved in the glass.  I looked it up on the internet & found out it was used through Coke when they supplied gum back around 1900.  Is this jar worth anything, are they rare, etc..... any news would be great. Thanks everyone.

We love pics.  Please post some pics of the jar and lid and someone may be able to help you.

Most of the ones I have seen online have the words embossed in glass stopper and glass body and some have paper labels.  Paper labels seem to be more desirable and more displayable and go for more money (depending on condition).  A pic of your "engraved" jar would be helpful.

Thanks to everyone for the quick answers, I'll dig out my camera & take some pics. The jar on the the second link is very similar to the one I have. I'm still cleaning out the garage/barn hope I can find more. I'll keep in touch, again thanks.
