Title: Candle stick holder - vintage
Post by: ryanzach on November 27, 2010, 12:13:35 PM
Hello everybody!
My first item I have up for show is this candle holder, I found it in an old cabin in where the ranch hand had lived, and he lived to +100 years, most of spent on this wealthy ranch. We got full access from the property owners as they are friendly clients of my fathers.
The base is a heavy formed metal which looks like brass (I think). Any information on it would be helpful. Thank you, see pics below.

Doesn't look like brass but more of a plate covered base metal.  Notice on the raised area the gold is missing?  Obviously used/loved.

This looks Catholic to me, with the cross and the heart, maybe that is a band of thorns around the heart?

AKA "Sacred Heart"...  What is above the heart?  Usually fire and a cross but it doesn't look like it in the pic.
