Hi All,
I hope I have done this right this is my first time.
It would be great if someone could tell me about a pair of chairs I have.
What type of chair they are, what country they come from,
when they were made and what they are worth.
They have springs in the seat.
I have a picture
Thank you so much

Hey, you did good. The chair pic blows up to show some nice detail. I am sure a forum member that knows furniture will be able to help you out.

Hopefully someone knows when springs in chairs came into use. The earliest reference I have seen is turn of the century.
The turned legs and reeding reminds me of a Sheraton style altho the backs were more "airy" and less of a compact design. They look as tho they were part of a dining set. Sorry I couldn't be more help. I looked in 2 early furniture books but found nothing similar. Also checked a depression era book and came up empty as well. Nothing even close altho these books are not comprehensive - esp the depression era (1920-1940).
Is there any hardware visible underneath?

I agree with Oceans, part of a dining room set - Depression

Thank you so much for your help.
I am in the UK so I presume they are english.
The only hardware underneath is the tacks that hold the hesian in place for the springs and filling.
Thanks again.

I have posted more pictures of the chairs.

I'll try to look more tomorrow (too busy today). I think they are very pretty. As far as value, I can't help since I'm in the States.

Thank you very much indeed.
