Title: Help Identify Antique Chair
Post by: ddorland on May 24, 2004, 09:04:33 AM
I have an old chair that I am trying to find out what it was used for or called. It is a high back oak with velvet upholstery on seat and back. Carvings on front side of the back. It has brass arms and a brass adapter on back that is used to fasten back of chair when it is folded forward to make into a desk or table. Leather on back side so when it is folded down it becomes the top. It has a patent date of June, 21, 1887 on under side of brass adapter. I hope some body can help identify it. I could e-mail a picture if you have any ideas. darralld@wmconnect.com   Thank you for any help!
