Hello people! My name is Gary and I am hoping I can finally figure out what this is.This item was given to me as a gift, and I have no idea what it is or where it came from. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

Hello Gary, and welcome to the forum.
What size is it? Is it cap badge size? Does it have any markings on the back at all? Is there a pin/clasp?
It seems to have been quite crudely made, but that doesn't mean a great deal other than perhaps mass produced.

Fairly certain it is Nazi (maybe). No markings, and it is on a cap (garrison style) it is attached to the cap with a nut style clasp, just screwed on. Never seen anything like that. If you need any other info, and or pictures I will be glad to post them. Thank you for your reply!

It does look German but Google images did not show a badge like this. I am with mario on it being a bit crude but maybe that is just from all the verdigris.

Can we see the cap as well ???

Third Reich did have skull/crossbones and griffins.....
Russia used double headed eagles but had different items grasped in it's talons.
The Cossacks also used double headed eagle/crossed swords......
Does this appear to have something in it's mouth? OR is it the tongue sticking out?
Wondering if it is more modern? It would help answer alot of questions...please post a picture of the back of the item!!!!! The clasp will help date the item as well! There is so much made these days that is trendy.....
There was a private society group at Yale......
Scottish Rite used a double headed eagle....32nd Degree Eagle Pendant......
And lets not forget the Masonic symbols.....
Countries that use double headed eagle

Thanks guys just happens to be in my area of interest, the other cap is trying to be a Waffen SS Model 43, but as with the pins is most likely a reproduction, the front button is wrong but could have been replaced.

Thanks Texasbadger,, it would have taken me a while top find that out, if I ever did !!

what makes you think the pins are a reproduction

There are single button M43 caps out there but a single photo wont suffice to authenticate a cap one way or the other, the silver pin may have a chance the other is a fantasy item of modern (post 1945) manufacture. Here is a shot of a Model 43 trapezoid for you to compare, some had black thread highligghts of jawline and eyes, but if the patch is bad, so is the cap, most times.[/img]](http://) (http://[img)

Not on the cross medal, but here are some shots of the variants of the other medal, If you want take very good shots of the cap front back and inside and send them to texasbadger@sbcglobal.net and we will see, would be a nice find if original

Hello
The first cap with the badge is indeed serbian traditional cap, called sajkacha. The badge is the cast of chetnik ( serbian ww2 formation loyal to the king, fighting the germans and communists ) insignia. It is a modern production, mass used in Balkan wars 1991 - 1998.
If it is maybe for sale, i would be innterested in the cap. Please let me know, this is my email : jakopec.bostjan@gmail.com
Thank you !
