Thank You

Welcome Milned! I'm sure someone here can help a bit but we are going to need some close up pics. Don't be shy about it either ;D I would suggest front and back and underneath if you can manage it. Also, good pics of the drawers, inside and out, and especially the front corners.
What is the top (red) made of? Does it seem as new as it looks in the pic? i.e replaced...

Thank you,
I will get some more close up pics of under the desk and the drawers then upload them. It appears to be a leather or leatherette I am not 100% sure, I don't believe it would have been replaced though.

More photos, I will be taking some of the drawers tomorrow when I am down the house.
I much appreciate the help from members of the forum.
Thank You

Looks like a nice little 30`s to 40`s writing desk. Oak, looks like it was taken care of !! Great condition !!

Agree with Mart it could easily be an early - mid 20th century, but could just as easily be a more modern reproduction, so close-ups are always useful, especially of inside of drawers and underside.
If it is leather then a quick sniff should be able to confirm that. Also, take a look at that back stretcher and see if there is any wear on it from years of feet resting on it ..
From the rear view it looks quite well constructed.

A twin of yours maybe? ???

Hello,
Thank You for all your replies. I am going to be taking the photos of the drawers later today, and will upload them asap.
If it was to be a ercol writing desk could there be any markings anywhere? Where else would you like images of apart from the inside of the drawers?
Thanks again, hope everyone is having a lovely day

Looks like an exact match to me! How in the world did you find it?!
-
It was in a house that we inherited. So we didn't really obtain it in the best of ways.
If this was an exact match, what sort of price is it worth?
Thank You, more photos of drawers to come!

Very well found, Cogar.
The asking price of £175 seems reasonable for that piece

If it was a repro would you be looking at £60-£80? Btw do you analyse modern furniture on this site well like 1970s G-PLan etc?
Thank You again! Im definately going to recommend this website to friends.
