Title: What kind of table is this?

Hello All

Can anyone tell me what this type of table is called? I don't know much about it other than I think it was bought in France in the 50s or 60s by a great aunt.

This appears to be a vintage floor lamp/table combination. Were very popular mid 90's.

I have two of a different style,, one on each side of my bed !!

The top is more of a cup - with a flat bottom. It's large enough for a large candle or a small plant.

I believe the guys are right in saying it is a floor lamp. Here is a couple links i have found to similar items and your item looks to be missing the top part (the actual lamp part)

The handle is used to set the telescoping portion at the right height. It has about 2 to 2.5 feet of ability to telescope the upper lamp part.
