Title: Ice Hockey anyone?. This Girl is so cute..

But I can't find any info on the country of origin or how old anywhere!. Super-high craftsmanship. I paid $50 for it at a garage sale. Is it Japanese or German?. She is 5 inches by 2 inches by 2 inches.

I am calling you when I have my next garage sale !! $50. ??  It is not Japanese !! Looks similar to corn shuck dolls !!  I would guess from one of the Scandinavian countries !!  Russia even possible !!

Whooops..my bad..I meant $5.. not $50...lol!. Corn shucks ice-hockey dolls are cute. I am in love..lol!. You may be right.."D" for Denmark maybe..her outfit is very retro though..30's-40's..

   I think this would fall into the Folk art realm, under most cases these items value would be in the unique looks only, as for the country well That would be up in the air.  Age on Folk art for the most part is very hard to pinpoint, as is the maker and etc.  Keep in mind many folk art items are made by locals to be sold as Tourist items, and this would mean the age again without any history would be hard to establish.  If you like the item and is planning to keep for it looks then you did great at $5.00

Retro 30s-40s look on this ice-hockey gal. Scandinavian 4-sure...
Now..did Scandinavians have a women's hockey team back in 1930s-40s?..hmmm...

If you like it, great but this looks new to me. By new, I mean within the last 20 years. Probably a gift store or craft shop item originally. The "D" is probably an initial of the person who it was purchased for much like an initial sweater. Value at a garage sale...$1 tops.

My 2 cents worth....these look like Christmas ornaments I have seen around for the past 8 - 10 years.  We have always tried to get ornaments for our kids relating to what their interests were for the year.....and this sure resembles many we have seen!!!!
