Title: Silver plated horse head with Artist/Company mark

It is very well done. Just got it from a friend. Anybody recognize the mark?. the dimensions of the piece is 3 inches by 2 inches approx. The green and the reddish in the pics is a reflection on the horse of some items in my room closeby.

Don't recognise the mark at all... but 1998 could be pattern number, year of manufacture, or even year of pattern.
Is it heavy enough to have been a paperweight? If not, then it might have been attached to something at some point?

Yes, it's pretty heavy.
