Title: Anique Rice Bowl
Post by: roger270 on June 23, 2011, 12:40:34 PM
I believe this is Kangxi but am unsure of the mark's era.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just show this to a Chinese Friend of mine.  He said that it does say Made in the year of Kangxi on the item, This would be a time frame of about 60 years over 300 years ago.  However he thinks that this is a modern reproduction of the item.  It is not uncommon for porcelain manufactures there to copy a item from that era, and put that mark on it, more in honor of the original item, and some to make someone think it is actually old.  Usually items that was made that far back have unglazed bottom on the foot.  From the second picture it appears the foot of the item is glazed.
