Title: Old box of some sort

I know Im new to the forum and have alot of questions, but Im eager to learn. My wife has this box that she has had for a while. It looks as if the picture is glued to the wooden box. The box is hand painted with etches as shown in the picture.

It looks like a manufactured hinge to me. Decopage crafting was very big in the 1960's using a product called Modge-Podge to adhere pictures onto to boxes and wall plaques and to give them a finish topcoat. I think this one probably dates to that time period.
