Title: Old phone I dug up from my closet:

So I dug up an old telephone from my closet, and I would like to ask if anyone happens to know anything about it. I've tested this unit out before, and found that while the phone itself is operational, the mouthpiece seems to be malfunctioning. Is there any place in particular anyone could refer me to replace this as well as the cable that connects to the phone jack? My father made the mistake of stripping it in order to connect it directly to the line. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Those older phones used “crimp” connectors on the ends of the wires of the cable that connects to the phone jack. See below picture, similar to the one at bottom left and/or bottom right, and made for use on a #22 AWG wire. They can be purchased at an “electronics” store, maybe Radio Shack, and you can use a pair of pliers to “crimp” them onto the ends of the wires.

Which one of those transmitter pieces on their site would probably be the one I need? I think it's this one: http://www.oldphoneworks.com/nos-f1-transmitter-element.html
But I can't be too sure.
