Title: Clown Doll
Post by: Thrifty Threadz on July 11, 2011, 04:10:16 PM
Can anyone give me an indication of the value this clown doll might have on the open market or eBay?   I know eBay doesn't usually bring top price, however it seems real collectors are always "looking". He reminds me of Emmitt Kelly, but I'm not sure of it's origin, except it is from a private collection of an estate I am liquidating.  I have others, but he is the only large one.   He stands about 21" tall.  The mark on the back of his neck says R & R.  I have more detail photos if you need them for ID.
Thanks!!!

Hi
It certainly looks like an Emmett Kelly doll, but I've no idea whether they were marked or not on the neck.
Hopefully someone else will be able to offer more positive help.

I believe you have a EMMETT KELLY Jr, "Willie the Clown" Doll Produced in the 1950s by Baby Barry Toys, NYC  The mark they Used Was a B & B , which could look like R & R due to manufacturing error. Value if indeed B & B $70.00 - $100.00.   good luck  :)
