I have acquired a very unusual chair, the owner called a Santa Clause Chair. The seat is curved, the back of the chair is carved with a face thought to be a Santa Clause. Curly locks, big eyes but the mouth doesn't look like a santa, seams like two teeth coming down in the front, or maybe it is the way I am looking at it.
paper label still attached Stomps Burhardt, Dayton Ohio.
Also a possible number x55. I can take a digital picture if that helps, how do I send it?
Want name of chair, history, and value. thanks
Stephanie

:o trust me, it's not santa claus. this company was elusive. working from about 1890 to the 1930's. your chair would have a value of $500.00 dollars ;)

thanks for the reply, what do you mean by elusive?

where would be a good place to sell or auction this chair?

theres very little info on the company'stomps - burkhardt.now and then a store catolog surfaces at prices of $75.00 dollars and up. your face is depicting the north wind. it's not santa claus. there is a superstition connected to there chairs, he or she who set's in these chairs will loose there strength.
