Title: How to find out the origin and value of a carved wooden camphor chest?
Post by: kelly2153 on July 31, 2011, 07:04:36 PM
In roughly 1985 my aunty travelled overseas and bought back a second hand oriental wooden intrgatly engraved camphor chest. It is rather large, roughly 106 cm in length, 54 cm width, and 60cm in height. This was given to my mother and recently it was passed o me. How could i find out more about its origins and perhaps even its possible value ? Thanks !!!

Kelly, would you be able to supply more and larger pics of the chest? I am sure forum members would like pics of the top, bottom, sides, inside, closeups of joinery (corners, hinges, clasps, etc.), what countries your Aunt traveled in, and any other details you can think of.
