Title: Spode plates in an unusual pattern
Post by: jmwe29 on August 01, 2011, 01:06:42 PM
Here are 4 9” Spode plates in a pattern I could only find at replacements.com, and that was in red rather than the blue that I have.  It is pattern #SP125; stamp on the back says Jewel Copeland.   One of them has a small discolored place on it; other than that they are in perfect condition.  With no other plates like this that I can find online, any suggestions on a starting price for these?

jmwe have had not much luck tracking this pattern, The figures were used by Spode in this pattern also http://cgi.ebay.com/3-SPODE-ENGLAND-PLATES-GREEK-KEY-BLACK-WHITE-EUC-N-R-/200636249035?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eb6da33cb      I can tell you the reference to Jewel is the plate shape & raised design throughout. try  your local library to search any Copeland Spode reference books to see if you can find a match. good luck  :)

Thank you Wendy for your help.  Those other plates with the same pattern in the middle are beautiful- interesting that they used it in 2 different plates like that.  I'll wait to see what those bring on ebay; could be interesting.
