Hi I recently came across a pack of old paper...
it's about the size of an unbound small novel. The pages are all blank and there is a watermark with "Alex Cowan & Sons" There was also partial packaging with this paper and i've attached the image of the packaging. I can't seem to find any information on Alex Cowan and Sons making blank paper... anyone have any idea how old these pages might be?
thanks in advance
Andy

Their ads say they have been makers of fine papers since 1779. http://www.makers.org.uk/paper/cowan1944 The article in one ad on bank papers is interesting.

yeah I saw online they've been around from 1779 to 1944. But what makes me curious is the packaging notes two awards won from 1873 and 1878 so i can only assume it is post 1878 and pre 1944... Also, yeah it's not in bad condition, I did however fix the bottom left corner in photoshop ;)
