Title: Guess This Metal Ball

Can anyone identify this object?
I have almost ruled out a cannon ball and shot-put.
My only guess is it's a project of a machinest to proove his abilities.
All other guesses most welcome.

What size is it? What type of metal is it? Does a magnet stick to it? How much does it weigh? Where was it found? Is it hollow? Is it perfectly round? Any markings whatsoever?

Thanks for that, I think you are correct.
To be honest, I have never heard of the game of Bocce, then again, I am not Italian.
