Title: need help determining if bowl is genuine silver

I received a lovely covered bowl that has what appears to be a dove, then WM Rogers, then a star stamped faintly on the bottom.  I am new to silver collecting and don't know if this is genuine silver or not.  Can anyone help me with this?  It would be much appreciated!

:( I'am sorry to say it's silver plate. it would sell at around $10.00 dollars
