Trying to find out what this could possibly be -
A two piece hollow wooden tube that holds 12 soft metal "wires" of various thicknesses, one of which has a large "eye" (like large a sewing needle).
The wires have blunt ends on them. All are approx 9" in length.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dave

??? ok so I might be totally wrong but my husband and I both saw these and said they were tattoo needles. I'm looking now to see if I can find some like these.
-
:( of course I was wrong....
Knitting needles (not near as exciting as tattoo needles lol)

These are not the exact ones that you have but it gives you an idea about them.

Look more like vintage beading needles to me with all being same diameter !!
-
Looks like there are eyes on the needles...so they wouldn't be for tattoos or knitting (also look way too thin to knit with and are not pointed at the ends).
Betting they are for embroidery and or beading!

Could Be !! I don`t knit !!
-
If they are soft metal wires then sewing, knitting or embroidery is out of the question.
Me thinks it is a cleaning kit of some type.
-
They are certainly not the traditional type of knitting needles !! But could have been used for fine detail work I guess !!
-
??? I'm not sure how they were used either, but i'm pretty sure that's what they are.....Here's another website that list them as that...

c1920 - A set of 8 steel knitting needles packed neatly in a hollowed and lathed tube made from a tree branch. Each needle is 8 3/4" long and tapered at both ends
But Develer stated ................
A two piece hollow wooden tube that holds 12 soft metal "wires" of various thicknesses, one of which has a large "eye" (like large a sewing needle).
The wires have blunt ends on them. All are approx 9" in length.
Given the above, Develer's wood container could have originally contained knitting needles ........ but its current contents do not.
