Title: Family Crest
Post by: hosman321 on August 29, 2011, 08:30:23 PM
I received that second Bateman spoon I bought on ebay today and I would like to know which family the crest might belong to. I know it may be hard to locate and there were lots of variations on crests. Does it looked like a crowned eagle or a crowned griffin?

Really cool mark, my vote would be eagle.

Most Bateman's have an eagle....but their wings are facing upwards, not downwards....and they display a star on the chest....and their mouths are open with their tongues sticking out!

Oops, I should have been a bit clearer! Sorry KC. Hester Bateman was the maker of the spoon, I don't know which family the spoon was made for. Was just hoping I could figure it out. :)
