My parents bought this lamp before I was born i have a pic of me standing under it in 1970 when i was just a baby. I dont know who made it or where they got it. All of the black trim and hardware on the lamp is brass wich is painted black I think. I have two of them, I have looked all over the lamp and can not find a model number or anything like that. I can not find anything like it online. If anyone knows how old it is or who made it please let me know. Thanks

Did you try looking at it with a magnifying glass for any marks or maker stamps? It's a lot harder without knowing the manufacturer, and sometimes the marks can be small and blurry but still identifiable. Also the measurements would help. :)

I will check it out tomorrow, if anyone has one of these and knows already let me know please.

Ok so I looked at the lamp right around where the lightbulb goes is a manufacturer mark, it says GIM and has the number 3043 to the right of it a bit. Here are some pictures. http://imageshack.us/g/714/img5464y.jpg/

GIM seems to be a voltage indicator. After looking for GIM i found a pdf about boat lighting, and it has some technical charts, and listed under voltage are a bunch of GIM listings

We thought it was a manufacturer, it was the only mark on the lamp. Anyone know what I should do to find out who makes it?
