Hi,
Has anyone ever seen this item. It is metal with a leather strip attached. I thought it might be something you would put on your fingers but I don't know. I can't find anything about it.
There are no markings on them and they measure 4 1/2" long.
Thanks in advance for any information!

It looks to be some type of scraping tool, and the leather would protect the palm of your hand. I'm not sure what it would scrape, but my first guess would be that it was used for scraping hides for leather tanning, but I could be way off on that. When I ran a search on antique leather scraper, I came up with tons of different types, all very different in form and function.

You got me on that one !!! No idea !!! Will probably feel dumb as a box of rocks when I find out what it is !!

I know I am way off but it looks like the type seed bead scoops I've seen.

hope somebody knows.. its bugging the heck outta me ???

I am guessing its a harvesting tool of some type,, just can`t think of what they would have harvested with those !! The hand would go through the leather and the metal looks like it would have been held in the palm,,the leather would keep it from falling when turned loose !! Thinking out loud !!

The holes in the leather seems to be for sizing.

My sister used to pack seeds for White Rose. They would also use something similar to count seeds to put in the packages.

Interesting snowflake. I was thinking whatever it went into would have to be soft or you wouldn't have any control.

Looks like a shellfish shucker to me .

or a corer. It's like a fruit tester, or like they test cheese.
-
It is a corn shucker or husker, whichever name you prefer.
That is a store bought one, and you can find the “handmade” ones, like the top 2 in the following picture. The “handmade” ones are often called a "shuching/husking peg".

Here is one for sale.
