Have another item that's got me scratching my head. The spoon handle is hollow and measures about 5" long. I can't identify the hallmark but it looks like it's made in Mexico. Anyone know what this spoon is for? Is it a spoon for olives? Geeeez....I need a martini. Thanks in advance.

Only a guess but maybe you blow in the hollow handle to agaite the water while you stir. Appears long enough in the picture. How long is it? Pretty cool item.

Nice little stroon (spoon/straw) , Snapper !
Have seen such used for hot & cold chocolate drinks , in Mexico .
Some use these for mint juleps & such .

I think you are right Fancypants !! Cocoa/chocolate is popular there I am told !!

You have a sipper spoon there. Also called a mint julep spoon. They are used to crush the mint in the bottom and sip the drink. They have also been widely used for afternoon teas.
We have quite a collection of them and they have kept going up in price over time due to consumer demand. The pieces from Mexico don't fare as well as those made in USA and Europe.
Just search them on Ebay and you will see that they sell well there.
The shell pattern is unique - less common. Circles and hearts are more common and those with dangling charms.
Have never seen them used for hot cocoa...the straw would get tooooooo hot!
