My grandfather left my mother an old Charlie Chaplin film. It's in the original tin. I'm having a senior moment and can't think of the name. Tin or canisiter? My grandfather used to play it for us. Charlie Chaplin went deep sea fishing and everyone winds up throwing up overboard. I was trying years ago to think who to take it to, but never did anything. What would you do?
Second my husband met Alfred Hitchcocl when he was little in an airport. He drew this for him and signed it? Cool isn't it? I framing it already. It's been sitting around forever.

That is really cool, greenacres! I don't know what to tell you about the movie but I am sure there would be plenty of interest in it.

If the film is a rare one, or a lost one, it could be worth a great deal of money, if it's an original print. You might want to get in touch with a film historian. There are groups interested in preserving old films -- they require very special handling to avoid further deterioration.

Wow, I'm shocked. Yes the film is very delicate. We haven't taken it out in years. Could I take to a history museum to check it out?

Check the local Theater, work at them in my youth, have the workers collect this stuff, and sure you will find direction, and or advise.

Thanks! I'll check around this week.
