Title: Side table
Post by: eeracing on September 21, 2011, 10:14:04 AM
Don't really know much about it, all the markings i can find are 3043 7 and a year of 1914. I think it's made out of walnut.

Beautiful table. You can try putting 1914 tables in your search engine, and see if anything comes up that resembles your table.

Yours is an Art Nouveaux side table or console table !! Was popular around 1900 and shortly after !! Styles were softening up and going curvy during this period !!  A bit like the female form but that is just my opinion !! If you look at the feet on your piece the scrolled feet are one of the trademarks but they are smaller and more delicate than the styles that followed !!  Table does look like walnut and in good condition !!  Very nice piece !!  Almost impossible to determine maker without actual markings !! Not huge value,,I would guess around $250. to $300. in a good market !!

Can you turn it upside down and take a couple of pics of the joinery?? Would be hard to tell since many construction methods used here were the same or similar than others !!  But I will give it a shot and see if I notice anything that would say "Made in America" !!  Do you have any history on the table ?? Or did you purchase it ??  If purchased what did the seller say about it ??

My first thought when seeing the table was that it was possibly made in France !! But that is just a gut feeling !!

Only if you lived there !!  For this time period there would be no significant difference in value no matter where it was made !! But if you are in the U.S. and wanted to sell the table you might find more potential buyers since it was made here !! Selling price might vary a few dollars but not much !!  Also it depends on how the market is running !!  Some days are diamonds,,some days are stones !!

ALSO....need dimensions of table!!!  If it is larger like a hall table...$150 - $200 in my area (TX)  IF FRENCH MADE
If a side table $50 - $80
