Title: Soup Tureen. (Japan)
Post by: snowflake on September 22, 2011, 02:48:55 PM
I have almost a love/hate thing going on with this piece. I love the design. The pattern...not so much. I don't know how old it is, has to be at least 25 years. Since that is how long I have known the family. There are no marks anywhere other than a raised 'Japan'.

Any information about this would be appreciated. Thanks!

There is a tiny hole in each handle. I don't know if that means anything or not.  :-[

No worries about the function of the holes in the handles ... those were put in place so that the (hollow?) handles would not explode , due to trapped air , while your item was in a kiln .
