You guys are not going to believe this, but today I have been emailing with a guy in Amsterdam who is recovering a chair for Queen Juliana of the Netherlands, mother of the current Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. He is trying to locate the fabric below. He contacted me because I posted it on a Web site two years ago. I would really like to try to help this guy out. He is quite nice and we've exchanged several emails today. This chair is going in Queen Juliana's tearoom and it has to be this exact fabric in this exact color.
You guys are the best detectives I know and if anyone can do this, I think that you can! I think it would be fun if our forum could save the day and find this fabric for the Queen!

Nice post , talesofthe7cs' !
I'd like to see this one come to fruition !
Looks possible that the Queen Mum has got a naughty (nautical) side .....
-
Me too! I'm finding lots of similar fabrics but not exactly this one.
-
My father in law used to be an interior decorator. I'll send him a photo and see if he can hunt it down.
-
Awesome Snowflake! In the meantime, I'm still looking!
-
I should add that the style of fabric is called toile, that may help.
-
Wrong color though. :( But now we know the name. I'm a toile FREAK!

Check out the description though it says where it is available! That's a great clue. It also has the pattern name!
-
Any idea of age of the fabric?
ETA: Nevermind.... Just read Hosman's post. Nice work H !! I knew you'd get this ;D
-
I've checked ebay, etsy and amazon but can't find it anywhere. Anybody have any other ideas? It would be way cool if tales could find it for them! That'd be a fun little story for future generations!
-
Went to the Pierre Frey website but no luck. They may be able to do a special run tho...

-
Here is the name of the manufacturer of the fabric, Braquenie and they are in Paris France. Can anyone find the contact for Braquenie? I'm getting a lot about it, but not a direct Web site.
-
www.pierrefrey.com The BRAQUENIE collection is new, so they should still have some of it!
Edit:oops, oceans already posted it. ;)

T - I think Pierre Frey is manufacturing this fabric now:
"......In 1991 the timeless company joined the Pierre Frey group."
About halfway down: http://blog.decoratorsbest.com/featured/pierre-freys-braquenie-collection/
i would suggest contacting the company to see if they have any or can make some...
ETA: Snowflake: LOLOLOLOL!! The name of the site through me off!!! TOT7S??? I was confuzzeld for a moment!!
-

Snowflake that's my Web site. :D That's how this guy found me!
-
LMAO!!!! That IS T's site!! hahahahahaha
-
LOL! Are you serious? Too funny! I was surfing like a maniac and saw the picture. I can't believe it!
-
LOL!
Found some things by searching toile-du-jouy including a museum devoted to toile fabric that may be able to help.
-
Hopefully you can find the right color tales, good luck and let us know what happens. :)
Come to think of it, I found a toile duvet cover at the thrift store a few weeks ago and I really, really love it. I want more but I can't find it anywhere. If anyone is up to the task, let me know so that I don't hijack tales' thread!
-
Just so I know. Does this mean that it is no longer made and you have to hunt down a piece still, or have it made?
Sorry if I 'outed' your site and you didn't want it so public. I had no idea.
-
Oh no worries at all, I've always been public about who I am. I just thought it was funny. ;D
I am forwarding all this stuff over. I think his best option is to contact Pierre Frey since it looks like his company acquired Braquenie

Is this it? French made?
-
GA, It's a different pattern and a different color. Sapphire I'll email him that info. Thx.
-
Darn, looks like I missed this one. It's the only one I've found in red. :-\
http://cgi.ebay.com/IKEA-WHITE-COTTON-PINK-ROSES-TOILE-TIES-K-DUVET-COVER-/130540848825?pt=US_Duvet_Covers
I really love it because the cotton is so thick and really high quality, pretty unusual for Ikea stuff. And the red is the perfect color of red. I want to make pillowcases out of another duvet or just find pillowcases...
Mine has the tag. I have no idea how old this pattern is. It reads:
Alvine Bukett 16855
