I collect brooches. It's a hobby let's say. I just bought a Limoge brooch. Here's what I'm not sure, it's in a sterling setting, and I think it's hand painted. It looks it to me. I paid $22.00 for it. Sometimes I think I get good buys. Okay so it's hammer time, lol What is it and am I wrong? I've seen the face on ebay. Excluding the amazing ones that I wished I owned, where does this fall.

I can't find your exact one anywhere. You collect brooches? I have a few that probably aren't anything special but would love to know about them. If I posted a few (in a new topic) would you mind taking a look. One is so ugly I can't imagine anyone wearing it. They are just vintage, I think.

Sure if I don't have it or know it I'll look at my books.

Is the body & bezel flat-soldered (it looks so to me , from the images) , or is it a 'cast' silver finding (except for top scrolls & clasp pin) , greenacres ?
Do you have a magnifier , by which you could tell us if the pin has been transfered/printed &/or handpainted (maybe you may be awaiting delivery?) ?

Your brooch is a transfer portrait of Madame Dubarry last mistress of king Louis xv , the makers mark is from an unknown company but was used sometime after 1891. Value around $60.00
