Got this from an elderly gentleman who claimed it belonged to his grandfather (not sure how HE acquired it). He said he had been meaning to restore it himself for the last 30 years, but is now downsizing. Looks like Federal era to me, but I would LOVE some opinions.
I feel like I'm always taking (asking) and never giving (answering) - but I do read all of the posts. My knowledge of antiques is still growing, so I hope to be able to contribute more in the future. Thanks to all of you (especially the hero members who have been looking out for me lately) for your patience.

First thought that came to me was Eastlake style. Wish I had more knowledge to share.

Very similar lines - thank you for the pics!

Some elements are similar to Federal styling but I think it is Eastlake as well !! If you have not done hand caning before,, you are in for quite a project !! ( I have and its a pain in the derriere !! )

Thank you Mart! I have heard that about caning before - I'm trying to work-up the motivation to get started...

Finish on it looks pretty good !! Not sure I would touch it except a little old english and get the seat done !! Will be a nice chair !!

are you gonna restore it to traditional or are you gonna put a more butt friendly cushion on it??

I'm going to try traditional first and see how it goes...
