A coworker of mine gave me this figurine/statue. He received it from a friend of his as a gag gift, but we have no idea where it came from or exactly what it is. I was hoping to be able to post on here and figure out if anybody could figure out where it is from and maybe who made it. Written on the figurine is R.B. W.B. 19(c)88
Images are attached.

LOL Well,, I`ll say this,, it is cute !! Appears to be a composite resin type instead of glass !! Can you take a pic of the mark ??
-
Here are the up close pics of the mark... As close as I could get with my iPhone... :(
-
Not sure what happened but it seems your figurine markings may stand for Rankin Bass and Warner Bros. I didn`t read it all but it seems that WB underpaid RB a considerable amount and I think there was a lawsuit around 1987 !! If you will google "Rankin Bass vs Warner Bros." about halfway down the page under the heading "the Enchanted World of Rankin Bass" You can probably find out more !!
Forgot to add that items like this are likely from Hallmark and similar stores !!

Believe this is a Russ & Wallace Berrie figurine yup sold in Hallmark stores. :)

THANK YOU! I'm still struggling to find anything on this specific figurine, but I am holding out hope! You definitely gave me somewhere to start!

wendy177: My response was to mart. Thank you for your response. I think you're right...I hope I can find it! :D Thanks!

Wendy you are probably right !! I didn`t see that one !! At least he has two he can check !! I didn`t find anything else that fit with the dates and initials and Rankin did cartoon type figures that were marketed !!

An interesting article you might want to read:

Is it made of some type of plastic?

This thing is hilarious!! I did a decent amount of searching but couldn't come up with anything. I agree with Wendy that it looks like resin. Although I don't know what the middle part is--a pearl or a simulated pearl? Cool info mart on the possible mfr. Great little piece, couldn't find anything like it.

I have seen them but really paid little attention except to say that "they are cute" !!!
