Title: Question About A Silver Platter.
Post by: kygrizz on August 19, 2004, 10:53:23 PM
Hello,

This is my first post. My wife picked up this silver colored platter in a sale, which has the letters E P C, enclosed in squares, and below that are three symbols:
1. A figure of a man's head with a beard.
2. A crown.
3. A cursive letter that looks like a "G".

Below that is this: 5/3 and possibly a very faint 8 after the 3.

Could anyone advise about this piece?
Thanks very much.

Thanks for your response, but with scratches on the bottom, there is no sign of copper. It looks like it's either silver or pewter?
Are you familiar with the markings I listed?
I was hoping maybe someone could direct me to a website where I could further research these markings and symbols. They seem rather peculiar!
Thanks again.
