Title: German Pewter Picture/Sculpting
Post by: antiquemania on November 13, 2011, 02:59:04 PM
Not finding anything on this pewter picture. Picture only measures 10"x13.5". Has an EB signature.

Any help in the right direction is much appreciated!

That EB may not be a makers signature or initials !! Mid 1800`s Electroplate Brittania was used instead of pewter because it looked the same and is a similar metal !! Interesting that the initials were worked into the design face !!  Or at least that is one option !!
This will tell you a bit about brittania http://www.oldandsold.com/articles04/metals2.shtmla  !!  Forgot to ask,, is anything on the back ??
